ZERO WASTE_ECOLOGIES OF FIBER

As sustainability continues to become a growing concern, we are looking for ways to minimize the negative impact on the environment. One of the ways is zero waste, and take into account aspect of a garment's life cycle. In this idea, I focus on the material selection, wool, which is a natural and renewable material. Not only because it is biodegradable and can be recycled, but also it is typically obtained from sheep that have been raised in a sustainable manner.

Once the wool has been harvested, it is cleaned and processed into yarn, the yarn is then become fabric. when the garment reaches the end of its use, then it can be recycled or composted into new yarn and fabric, which can be used to make new garments again, in addition, because of it is a natural material, it will biodegrade over time, and back to nature, then grow into grass, be eaten by the sheep, and then we collect wool from the sheep. so, the life cycle is realized.

And in this collection,

I use wool fiber to do the wet felting, and crochet to make patterns. Wet felt and crochet patterns can both be used alone, or can be combined. or can be disassembled.
