a dialogue cross the past, the present and the future.
LIFE AFTER DEATH UNTIL ETERNITY
a link that connects the past, the present and the future, so that we will better understand the fragile and tenacious existence of life .
My inspiration is from the museums that I visited, which are located in different parts of China. These museums collect historical relics and record the fate of the ancient dynasty, the emotions, and cultural exchanges of that era. The ancient ceramics, paintings, bronzes, etc. are silently displayed, as if telling the story of life long ago. These treasures have been buried and rediscovered and now provide clues about present day life. In a way, they act as the guardian of time and connect the past with the present, revealing the infinite cycle of fate.
"LIFE AFTER DEATH UNTIL ETERNITY " is about the interweaving of cultural relics and fate. Cultural relics that have been buried and rediscovered provide clues of life to nowadays.
The ancient ceramics, paintings, bronzes, etc. are silently displayed, as if telling the story of ancient life.
These relics witness the flow of time, act as the guardian of time and closely connect the past with the present, revealing the infinite cycle of fate.
Clothing also records changes in culture. Through my knitting, I interweave cultural references and fate. Unusual shapes and layers symbolize the complexity of life. I take well known methods of making- crochet and knitting- and deploy them in unusual ways in garments and seams to represent the past and future becoming woven together and to bring my customer into a journey through time.
I create these different garment of different shapes but using the same pattern. All my garments are based on these patterns, and the garment will be present differently over time by the yarns, by the sewing methods, but keeping these same patterns be used multiple times.
This collection reminds us to cherish every moment as each of us will also become part of the past one day.
